The New England Synod Assembly 2023 took place June 9th and 10th at the DCU Center in Worcester MA. You can view recording of each day’s events below.
NE Synod shrunk from 185 congregations in 2012 to less than 160 at the start of this year.
Put another way thats a nearly 15% loss in 10 years.
Bishop Hazelwood is retiring and a New Bishop will be elected at the 2024 Assembly. Be heard, take the Landscape survey by June 30th
Share your voice, participate and be heard
The NE Synod is offering grants for congregations to support various ministry initiatives for 2024. Applications must be submitted no later than Dec 15th of this year. Grant focus for 2024 are three ministries:

-Congregational Renewal Grant
-Youth and Young Adult Grant

NE Synod was largest contributor in all of ELCA for 2022
School of Lay Ministry
The school is organized as a two year commitment of study. One year focuses on Lutheran theology and confessional heritage, church history, world religions and current ministry issues. The other year studies include the Old and New Testaments, biblical studies, leadership and the arts of ministry.
